On or about July 15 the seller moves remaining dry goods clothing shoes hats and gents furnishings from the store now occupied by Americus Jewelry Company at 421 Jackson Street. The message urges buyers to act as prices are cut to encourage sale before moving out.
A cash sale advertisement lists Blanchard Shirtings, lawns, organdies, percale, cordette, and ginghams with wide variety of widths and prices. Items include 5¢ quality print, 10¢ yard percale, 6¢ fabric, 12 to 15 for Hamburg Ed Wool, and Silver Star patterns. Emphasizes “CASH ONLY” and limited quantities with bulk yard discounts.
Local shop promotes a clearance of neckwear shirts and linens. Stocks include 5 ply linen collars at 1.50 per dozen, neckwear sets and ties, negligee shirts and white shirts reduced to1.00 and 1.50, with large discount on 50 cent neckwear. Customers urged to visit and view the sale as stock is cleared for new arrivals.

New York July 18 Brooklyn street car strikers won over nonunion workers as the Putnam avenue line ran with delays and Fulton Street line cut service. President Rossiter of the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Co said service would resume tonight, while General Master Workman Parsons argued the strikers gained strength daily. The Metropolitan Street Railway reported little risk of a broader strike on its cable or electric divisions.

The Plant system’s compulsory relief department faces challenge as plaintiff’s lawyers argue the carrier lacks charter rights to life and accident insurance and that Price’s signed agreement not to sue is invalid.
Monray July 18 A Swede named Brown assaulted the 1 year old daughter of D S Russell at Andrews town in this county 16 miles away. The mother heard screams and fired a shotgun but feared harming her daughter. A Black laborer nearby aided. Brown was paroled and jailed here to await October term of court.
