Between seasons when clearance sales arrive we tempt buyers with unusual inducements. Twice a year we hold these bargain feasts offering reduced clothing prices and strong deals for shoppers seeking value.
The notice urges immediate investment at current prices promising profit as weeks of summer weather approach. It explains two reasons for inaugurating these sales and emphasizes timely action to capitalize on favorable conditions.
Americus residents can again rely on plentiful water as a new pump at Station 15 becomes operational. A low compressor for the reservoir arrived from New York and is expected to be in service by Saturday, easing a six week summer scarcity amid high local manufacturing demand.
Americus will stage its first automobile parade next Monday afternoon. The event already draws strong interest from machine owners and the general public alike as anticipation grows for the showcase of stylish autos.

Andersonville Ga July 15. The telephone line from Andersonville to Americus will be completed in two or three days. Built by Dr T P Bell of Andersonville it will connect at Americus with Southern Bell. The line runs miles through the country with about twenty subscribers already connected and more awaiting service. Locals praise Dr Bell for the project.
Judge Fite of the Cartersville circuit says a person who gives a boy a match to light a cigarette is as guilty as the man who finishes the youth with tobacco or paper and should be indicted accordingly. Moral:
Plains GA July 16 Regular correspondent reports a lull in local social life after many visitors leave. Misses Annie Bell Harper Evelyn Duffey Lillian Maxwell Gladys Crawford and Lucile Cochran return home from two weeks with Miss Winona Evans. A barbecue hosted by Jack Slappey at Mrs. R B Evans home honored Miss Evans house party. Numerous locals and guests attended dinners and park outings across the week.
Mr West Turner recently returned from the Isthmus of Panama and called on Mr and Mrs Ross Dean as well as Mr and Mrs R S Oliver. Misses Jimmie Renfroe and Burt of Talbotton were guests of the Deans and the Olivers during the week.
Andersonville directors met recently to plan immediate work toward establishing a cotton warehouse. Local social and business notes list residents and visitors including Mrs. W. O. Kasterlin, Burrell L. Joiner, Fred T. Suber, Ruth and Rebecca Hodges, Minnie B. Lowe, Harry Morgan, Mr and Mrs B. F. Easterlin and family, J. A. Wesson, B. O. Easterlin, Geo. M. Stevens, and R. E. Wicker. Pearl Bailey improving mentioned in passing.
Mesers Tom and Angus Markette have been ill for days. W T and E C Webb attended the Farmers Union barbecue at Smithville on Tuesday. Miss Maggie McDonald remains convalescent while Mr K M McDonald is improving. Miss Ethel Markette returned home from Boston Ga where she stayed with sister Mrs A C Jones. Primitive Baptist church Sumter will conduct preaching Sunday at 11 am by Elder R H Jennings of Dawson followed by communion and foot washing. Mr and Mrs G W Israel spent last Tuesday with Mr and Mrs T G Williams. Mrs A C Jones of Boston Ga visits her parents Mr and Mrs B F Markette.
Smithville Georgia on July 16 reports Dawson guest Jim Dozier visiting town and Miss Margaret Button of LaGrange visiting her grandmother Mrs. W. O. Wells. Lucile Brinkley of Teesbure and Miss Nell McKenney host and Miss Lillian Gibson visits Cuthbert. Cordelia Adams of Macon visits Mrs. W. Fork McAfee. Margaret Burton hosts a Monday afternoon Up Jinks party. A Dawson Leesburg group attends a straw hat dance with lunch, then returns home late. The Farmers Union hosts a barrel supper and the community notes conclude with a stray mention of a 0.49% bar.

Pursley joined Saturday delegation to Americus and visited Leslie. C Clay and wife planned a short stay in Americus and elsewhere. Maud Burke and grandmother left for relatives near Americus. W I Means of Macon greeted friends here on Wednesday.
