In Cor dele on January 29 Judge D A R Crum addressed the January term grand jury at the superior court. He explained the state law forbidding soliciting liquor orders and warned against unlawful punishment or revenge by any organization acting outside the law.
In San Francisco on January 29, federal officials outline Belle Bennett formerly with Forsyth Players in Atlanta in a tense offstage dispute. Producer John Geiler claims marriage and has allegedly sent allotment checks, while Bennett denies both marriage and cohabitation under a five year contract.
Chicago: Edwin B Jennings, famed penny pincher with an estate of about 27.5 million, never married to avoid alimony. Four months after death, eight Jennings cousins contest sole heirship with Miss Ida Miner and their son Charles, amid tales of thrift and odd bachelorship.
News reached Cordele of the death of Mrs. Jacobs mother of Mrs. Edward Stallings of Albany. She died Friday at her son’s home in Lexington after months of failing health with all three children at her bedside including Mr Jacobs of Lexington and daughters Mrs. Stallings of Albany and Mrs. Todd of Lakeland Fla.

Valdosta January 29. Before leaving for Aberdeen C. the past weekend Mr B B Saunders announced that arrangements were completed for a new tobacco warehouse in Valdosta which he will manage next season. He and the stockholders have reviewed the ground plans and a full agreement has been reached.
Valdosta reports paving certificates under the Oklahoma plan for the Webster street Pare Ave and Toombs street projects are printed and ready for sale A contractor representative is in town reviewing the work and gathering facts The city council would meet to dispose of the certificates once preparations are complete paving would then begin
W H Abbott paid the $400 entrance fee to launch his bid for re election as Fulton county Tax Receiver. James I Lowry also paid $400 for re election as Sheriff. Jere A Wells paid $150 for Superintendent of County Schools to succeed J W Simmers. Claud L Ashley paid $125 for County Commissioner.
The Greene County Executive Committee, with the State Executive Committee, fixed Wednesday March 19 as the county primary date and presidential primary in Georgia. Henry M. Sprinks was elected chairman to succeed the resigning John S. Callaway.
The Crawfordville executive committee announces a county primary on March 19. All candidates for county office must file by March 1.
In Macon on January 29 9 635 voters registered for the Democratic primary, far surpassing prior totals and about a thousand more than the last primary. Tax Collector Asher T Winslet and assistants closed books January 14 and have since prepared the rolls.

Houston, Texas, Jan. 29. E. J. Cox, oil promoter, was sentenced today to serve five years in the federal penitentiary and pay a $15,000 fine by Federal Judge Hutcheson after conviction by a jury on a charge of using the mails to defraud.
Jan 29 Valdosta reports a strange large hair‑necked animal seen in swamp along Little River. Witnesses say it towered over cows, tossed a large cow as if plaything, prompting locals to fear a bear or lion type creature. No further details available.

A party of officers left Ameri zag today for Nichols to bring back four white men held there on charges of stealing Gordam Heys automobile. Macon Jan 29 Herbert Creamer former soldier on trial for assault with intent to murder his father in law F D Dutton was acquitted this morning on the first ballot of the jury. Creamer shot Dutton in an alleged family disagreement last fall.
The annual staff meeting of division superintendents and agents of the Central of Georgia railway began in Macon with over 500 in attendance. A tribute was paid to the memory of the late W. A. Winburn as the session opened. The gathering will continue through Wednesday.
The forecast calls for generally fair weather across Georgia with a slight warmup tonight. Overnight and Wednesday should be warmer with light winds and stable conditions expected.

Gainesville Ga January 29 T H Shelley died suddenly at his home here. He had not been in the best health for many months but his sudden death was unexpected as he had retired as usual without any complaint.
Valdosta January 29 The Continental Hatchery announced the first hatch from the Valdosta plant will be taken off Wednesday. The operation promises the largest number of chicks yet, though initial eggs could not fill the incubator. Subsequent hatches are expected to rise and the chicks will be sold largely in the local area due to advance demand.
