Atlanta on January 28 reports indicate one man fatally wounded and two others badly cut after a string of holdups late Saturday night. J. H. Pritchett of 465 Beecher Street is at Grady Hospital in critical condition after being slugged by two unidentified Black bandits.

Shanktown Pa January 28 rescue teams battling water and gas try to reach a small group of miners entombed in the Lancashire mine of Barnes and Pucker Coal Co. after a gas explosion late Saturday. Forty men died in the blast, 31 bodies removed, five others found.
