Atlanta bishop J S Flipper heads two day Americus AME meeting at Campbell Chapel to create Americas conference giving Georgia eight conferences. The 42nd ministerial anniversary will be marked with a banquet in the church basement. Bishops Johnson Fountain Chappelle Hurst and Carey arrive for the celebration. An educational drive for 5 000 000 for AME schools is launched. Mayor Sheppard to speak at welcome program.
George O. Marshall, secretary of Sumter County Farm Loan association, reports a charter grant to the Americas organization and 44,700 in loans approved. Twelve applicants will receive loans, while 18 applications were rejected, mostly city farmers from Americus. Abstracts ordered. funds scarce and Columbia bank limits further applications until current ones are processed.
