In Gray Georgia Gilberts of Jones County will host a mass meeting Saturday at 11 am to discuss county highway needs. Speakers include W T Anderson editor of the Macon Telegraph T Rod Turner president of Bibb National Bank and a district highway engineer from Dublin.
The fifty fourth annual Macon Chamber of Commerce gathering will be at 7 PM tonight in Hotel Dempsey. The program includes an address on city and county governments and a presentation of a municipal stadium finance plan. More than 1,000 invitations went out to members and Stadium Commission participants.

A 2:30 pm telephone report said forty representative men from the county end selected W. T. Anderson to run in the March 19 primary for county commissioner. E. L. Wilson presided. DeSoto Cobb Flintside and other communities were represented. Anderson, cashier of the Bank of Leslie, is a prominent Sumter county figure with no prior public candidacy. Announcement will be published in Friday's Times-Recorder.

McCormick a former Ladysmith grocer was found guilty of murder of his wife for the second time in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin The jury included five women and he will be returned to Waupun to serve the rest of his life The retrial followed a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling in August 192% granting a new trial based on alleged trial error He was returned to his cell in state prison today.

Thomasville January 24 concrete work on Madson Street between Jackson and Jefferson restarted Wednesday and continued through the day. It is expected the entire block will be laid by evening with half the street covered. The paving machine, out of commission during the cold weather, is now functioning well.
