West Point Ga Jun 3 After arresting Ernest Roberts for a minor offense two officers Gallagher and Jones were assaulted in front of a local building Roberts swung a large hunter knife striking Gallagher on head and arm then cut Jones vest threatening death. Gallagher fired twice hitting Roberts in the abdomen causing his death. Preliminary hearing exonerated the officers.
