Washington report says Vermont Senator Greene was shot in the head near the Capitol while two men fled prohibition agents. He remains in satisfactory condition after an X ray showed a fractured skull without brain injury. he shielded his wife as bullets struck. The incident heightens congressional scrutiny of prohibition enforcement.
Feb 16 Colquitt farms at Moultrie began filming a documentary on farming progress. Officials of the chamber of commerce approved the scenario outlining advances in diversified farming livestock raising dairying poultry and development of marketing facilities.
In Durham New Hampshire on February 16 agricultural experts from the University of New Hampshire reported that county agent D A O Brien of Coos County notes sunflowers substitute well for feed. The short growing season in this county limits ensilage corn but sunflowers have proven worthwhile for both farmers and cows since 1920.
London February 16. A strike of 120000 dock workers in the United Kingdom takes effect at noon, closing ports and halting railway traffic from them. Peacemaker efforts will run through Monday, with potential belt tightening and food-supply impacts if unresolved. Negotiations failed after flat rejection of terms offering a shilling a day raise and a capital-labor inquiry.
