Boat death during Lakeside bird hunt near Macon
Stewart D. Jones, 60, a manufacturers’ agent, collapsed and died of heart failure in a boat on Lakeside lake while bird hunting with his wife. Mrs. Jones rowed about a half mile to shore after he fell, a physician was summoned, but he died before aid arrived. Their 9 year old daughter witnessed the tragedy.

Convict Causey Chapman Convicted in Conspiracy Case
Vienna February 8 Causey Chapman son of Fate Chapman was convicted on a conspiracy to kill Dooly county officers. Judge Richard Eve sentenced him to life in the penitentiary. One negro and a white man were killed during rioting at Fate Chapman’s Byromville home in May 1921. Several others wounded. trial of six more negroes to begin Monday.
