Earthquakes Reported in Multiple Cities on February 4

A string of tremors across Dana Nebraska Portland Oregon and Osronto with shocks lasting up to thirty seconds. PENSION MONEY For Confederates In Sumter Delayed Till May

Disabled Confederate veterans in Sumter county will not receive pensions until May when the grand jury reconvenes to determine the validity of all claims. Widows also wait for spring payment due to a law requiring jury review before disbursement. The annual Sumter total is about 1,005 dollars, eight recipients get 100 each for severe injuries, others receive smaller sums. Names of widows approved and filed in the executive department are listed.
