Late yesterday the railroad and warehouse commissions issued two orders in the iron ore rate cases. One order targets the Duluth Missabe and Northern and the other the Duluth and Iron Range railroad. The Eastern Minnesota case was dismissed. Missabe rates fell from 0 to 6 cents per ton, while Duluth and Iron Range rates drop from 80 90 and 81 to 60 70 and 30 cents. Net earnings for Missabe would drop about 81,090,000, leaving roughly 151,089.10. Duluth and Iron Range could see about 560,000. The commission says this yields a fair income on capital invested.
