Fire at Basros, Pa, Dec 18 left only the east wing standing of a grand structure on College hill. The attack gutted the center and west wing, with walls charred to ashes. Loss projected around 300000 dollars, with firemen unable to save the Ward library and valuable contents. In addition, about 25 sellers had losses from the blaze.
