From Andersonville Ga Aug 11 Rev RE Moore of Macon conducts a week of meetings at the local Baptist church. Visitors include D Bascom Slappey staying with his mother Mrs N L Slappey and Mrs Bell of Jacksonville Fla guests of her son Dr T P Bell. Other locals visiting relatives and attending meetings include Mrs Mame Harden Mrs L C Davidson Miss Annie Willie Finch Mrs Ettle Allegard and Mr Jas W English with several families and members in town.

Preston Baptists end series with hopeful baptisms

Preston Ga August 1 1908 regular correspondent reports Pastor Barkley of Plating Baptist church has just closed a series of meetings last week. Rev A C Wellens returned home due to family illness. There were accessions to the church and baptizing is announced for the first Sunday in September. Readers praised the earnest preaching and hope to have his influence again.
