Vanderbilt Idle Hour burns in Oakdale long island

New York April 11 idle Hour the Vanderbilt country house at Oakdale Long Island was destroyed by fire about 8 o'clock. No lives were lost though 12 to 15 servants were in the home. W K Vanderbilt Jr and his bride formerly Virginia Pair were occupants. Estimated loss 250000 to 300000. The house was a two story brick Queen Anne building built eight years ago.
