Rep Woodruff of Michigan warned in the House that Attorney General Daugherty could face impeachment if he does not act in the Lincoln Motor claim suit. The speech also alleged DOJ failures to pursue civil and criminal actions against several war contractors based on congressional committee testimony.
Indianapolis April 11 Attorney General Daugherty is to resume today the investigation of pending federal court cases under indictments returned over a year ago against 226 CIM operators and miners. Daugherty planned to leave here late today.
Smithville April 11 Valley Fam a domestic drama in four acts will be staged at the High School auditorium April 18 at 8 pm by local talent. Mrs T C Daniel will supervise the production for the benefit of scenery and window shades. The Parent Teacher Association backs the show with admissions 25 cents for children 40 cents for adults. Cast includes Harold Rutledge George Clark Perry Deans Frank Childers and others. Time two and a half hours.

Leslie, April 11. After Union High basketball season, a baseball club was formed with help from Prof. F. G. Clarke. They lost the first game and won the second, training hard for a strong season. Bradley, Union High pitching ace, will start Thursday on the Union High diamond with R. Hines catching as Bronwood visits.
Valdosta April 11 Farmers loan association fairs in Lowndes county were examined by a Washington examiner and found in excellent condition. It was learned that in the last month or two all federal farm loan banks have faced unusual demand for their new bonds at a premium and large sales are reported. This suggests banks will handle a substantial amount of new business and inject new money into various communities.
Secretary of State Hughes warned Representative Rogers that the naval appropriation bill which cuts enlisted personnel to 67000 would lower the American navy below the 5 5 8 ratio from the arms conference and harm United States interests.
Cliff Clay of Atlanta and C W Felder of Chicago motored to Americus yesterday and stay with Mrs. Mary B Clay on Taylor Street. Clay is southern Chevrolet manager in Atlanta and a frequent Americus visitor. Felder, raised in Americus, has a top circuit career in Memphis and Chicago and recently married Marjorie Maxwell, a famed opera singer with Mary Garden's Chicago company. they plan another Americus visit after the tour ends.
Nellie Tracey aged 40 was found murdered in an East Side tenement near Chatham Square. Her nude body bore cuts from a razor and residents recall seeing her with a man hours before the discovery. Police pursue leads in the ongoing investigation.
Washington reports today that the bourse and the National Bank of Greece were closed, with cable dispatches indicating a suspension of operations in Athens. The notices affect Greek financial markets and government trade channels.

April 11 Waycross report notes three University of Georgia agriculture faculty members Profs. McHatton Reade and Barker and eight students entered the Okefenokee swamp for a five day botanical survey. Reade hopes for an organized plan to make the swamp a national preservation site as the largest remaining example of original nature in the United States. The party will depart Thursday evening.
Waycross plans a mass meeting Wednesday night to launch Made in Georgia Week preparations. Civic and fraternal groups met to organize what may become the region’s most complete South Georgia exhibition, with aims to make it a permanent display. Principal speakers include Mrs J Ki Heys, Mrs Newton C Wing, and Col Dave Farrior.
Fort Myers April 11 Mrs Ford says Henry Ford should not pursue the US presidency. She prefers peace in Dearborn over White House life and notes he has too much to do already. She shuns publicity, and says she cannot and will not make him do anything. The Fords rest in an orange grove home with Edison neighborly nearby.

Charley Howard alias Few Clothes, wanted for the December 19 Howell's Pharmacy robbery, was picked up by Policeman Ross last night and bound over on $300 bond by Justice Carter. Tullis La on alias Son spore, another young robber, was arrested as he came out of the door.
Sumter county, already noted for its pork industry, is rapidly developing dairying and cattle raising as new revenue. George O. Marshall leads the drive, securing shipments to the Columbus creamery. Plains shipments of twenty gallons weekly go via Plains Mercantile Co with named women and men as consignors. Leslie community sends ten gallons weekly with listed contributors. Dr. F. P. Anderson, a major cattle raiser, recently shipped $105 worth of cream from 14 cows, though only seven are milked regularly. Mrs. A. F. Hodges ships cream from five cows and earns about $45 monthly, expanding her herd and adding machinery to boost cream output. Other county areas show similar growth.

Mrs. Fannie Crabb secretary for Minnie Vann Grove Woodmen Circle received a $600 check from the Woodmen of the World headquarters in Omaha Neb to be paid to Mrs Pantone on the policy carried by her late husband. Pantone died February 20. The organization provides monument benefits as well as insurance.
Genoa April 1. George Critcherin head of the Russian Soviet delegation said it is useless to discuss Europe’s reconstruction without disarmament and warned that arms spending threatens relief efforts. The clash with France over disarmament showed it not on the conference agenda. Lloyd George Facta and Schanzer urged unity, Barthou defended France, and Italy pledged support for measures to ensure peace and stability. The session opened with conciliatory tones from major powers and Russia and Germany later admitted to the main committee.
