Collum to Testify at English Trial
Leany March 31 The Eng murder trial was continued in pretrial court today. John M Collum former principal of the Third District Agricultural and Mechanical college here travels to Albany as a witness in the case of RB Eng Jr a former Aggie student charged with murdering a Dougherty county police officer. Collum says he acts from mercy and interest in Aggie students. He led the college and was popular in Americus where he lives. Collum has relatives in Andersonville and served in the 81st division in France. Other figures plan to travel to Albany to attend the trial and support Collum who is running for state senate seat in the district.

Martha Howell infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Howell died Wednesday night at the family home at Spring and Dudley streets. The funeral was held at 2:30 PM from the home conducted by Rev. George F. Brown. Burial followed in Hebron cemetery in the 17th district, where the family formerly resided. She is survived by her parents one sister Ruth and maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Mills.
