One Prays After Suicide Attempt In Gas Filled Bedroom
Sixta sat on her knees praying in a cell after police say she attempted to kill herself this morning in a gas filled bedroom. She has two sons, ages 10 and 6, by a Central America born man. The elder boy called police when he found her. Officers Cardwell and Latham revived her and took her to headquarters. The same officers responded yesterday when the boy warned that his mother would shoot herself.

Gun Duel Ends With 2 Injured In Pleasant Valley
An off duty Amarillo policeman and James Lowry gunduelled outside the Montgomery home in Pleasant Valley. Curtis Montgomery Jr. was wounded in the hand by a .22 pistol while Lowry suffered pellet wounds from a 12 gauge shotgun. Both treated and released from Northwest Texas Hospital.

Horace Fe Wilson of Amarillo plans to appeal a speeding summons issued near Seguin after claiming a hidden radar unit violated Section 803 of the State Penal Code. Wilson, who will appear in Seguin justice court Tuesday, says the law should dismiss charges from such traps and may seek Supreme Court review. Ten Drowned In Lake Dorr Near Umatilla
A crowded 11-foot boat sank on Lake Dorr near Umatilla. Of its 11 occupants, 30 drowned including six children. Deputy Noel E. Griffin Jr said witnesses saw the stern dip and submerge about 125 yards from shore. Bobbie Lee Shaw swam to safety, her two young children among the victims.

Group Seeks New Gas Bill From Inter State Oil Compact Commission
