Amarillo News Roundup Reflects Local Life And Worries
A busy Amarillo era column covers Ringling Bros. asking schools close early for a matinee, a Dallas couple with voice wax diaries, a humorous Texan anecdote about a bull out of them, and tributes to Stanley Mauldin. It also ponders veterans golf scoots, a missing doctor, and Texas football’s rough break after an unexpected loss.
Circus memories and cautionary tales from long ago
An elder voice recalls a mix of life lessons from sports to piloting, recounts a fatal irony of a 58 year old friend wrecking a Beech plane after forgetting landing gear, and muses on aging, circus days, and beloved Ringling Band while longing for another parade.
