Dorothy Dix argues that women who shun female companionship are social outcasts. She praises female solidarity, noting women support each other in sickness and sorrow, fund philanthropy, and push for education and opportunity. She laments girls who dislike women and lack women friends.
The Amarillo Branch American Association of University Women heard Frank Storm Jr speak on Russia at a fall program and tea in the Federation Club Rooms. Storm reviewed Soviet physical and political aspects and described a controlled dictatorship. A business discussion followed the program.
Am arillo Pilot Club dinner meeting featured Mrs J S Fischer as guest speaker presenting Business Women of England. Frances Cyrus presided. Hazel Miser chaired program arrangements with Faye Gordon assisting. table settings honored numerous members and three guests.
The Security Benefit Association met in a business session at 209 Blackburn Building Seventh and Polk with Mrs. Mazzie Truett presiding. Plans were made for a social to be held September 29 at 8 o clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Alford at 816 Virginia.
The evening schedule lists events across Joliets and Amarillo with multiple clubs and churches. Activities include YWCA gatherings at 6:30 PM, various church women’s societies at 2 to 3 PM, Phebean Class at 7:30 PM, Rebekah Lodge at IOOF Hall, and Eastern Star Khiva Temple events at 7:30 to 8 PM.
The Junior Travel Study Club postpones its meeting scheduled for tomorrow to a later date in October. Members are advised to watch for a new notice with the revised time and location.
