David L. Fisher, an American and chief clerk of the Southern Pacific railway, was shot and killed at Guadalajara by a Mexican railroad employee. Fisher died yesterday. The consul named J. V. Prada as the slayer but gave no motive. Fisher’s brother is general superintendent of the Pennsylvania railroad in Pittsburgh. His mother lives in Philadelphia. The American embassy is making representations to the Mexican government.

Pleadings in the Dial oil suit involving Mrs Gertrude Dial and N H Martin et al over title to a large portion of the Dial ranch in Hutchinson county were heard in Judge Gee s court this week and concluded this morning. Judge Gee has not yet ruled on the questions. Attorneys from Oklahoma City Dallas and Wichita Falls attended the hearing.

A report states Roy Williams and Clayton Toontz, held in connection with the Saturday murder of Leo J. Laley, were ordered to view the slain druggist’s body at funeral parlors to break their composure. The tactic did not appear to unnerve them, contrasting with prior cases where suspects showed distress.

Washington September 15 A clash over whether to call an extra session of Congress or a special Senate session erupted on the White House doorstep. Speaker Longworth urged President Coolidge against an extra session while Borah remained noncommittal. Senator Nye of North Dakota charged that the Republican old guard is plotting for its own ends.
Khiva Shrine Chanters wrap up plans for a grand minstrel and musical revue in the city. Albert S. Brown, director, says rehearsals run nightly and all parts are assigned. Ticket sales exceed expectations and both performances on September 19 and 20 are likely to be well attended.
Kansas City market reports choice yearling steers averaging 1015 pounds selling at 14.75 dollars per hundred, marking a new top for the year and the highest price since October 1926.
