Miss Hamner Named Head Old Settlers at Panhandle Fair

Laura V. Hamner was elected president of the Panhandle Old Settlers Association at the Tri State fair this morning. Vice presidents named include J. C. Paul, W. H. Patrick, B. F. Jackson, G. A. F. Parker and Mrs. John Knight. Horace M. Russell was re elected secretary. The gathering drew several hundred long time Panhandle residents who heard talks by Judge Paul and Jackson and renewed old friendships as they recalled Llano Estacado days.

Magnolia hikes crude oil prices in three states

The Magnolia Petroleum Company announced new crude oil prices in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas that raise various grades by nine to fifteen cents. The scale runs from 1.60 dollars per barrel for higher gravity oil to 1.05 dollars for oil under 30 degrees Baume. The move aims to align Magnolia’s offers with other producers, without exceeding peer prices.

Pageant to be big attraction in Amarillo exposition

The Texas Historical pageant at the Amarillo Tri-State exposition will be the event of the fair. At 7 30 tonight the show before the grand stand will feature 1500 participants including three National Guard units. It depicts Texas and Amarillo history with a mock battle and artillery. Admission 50 cents grandstand 25 cents parking.

Prairie Oil and Gas company reports oil in its No 1 Landergin well north of Vega Oldham County. Pageant and cycle races headline fair day

Visitors from nearby towns flock to the fair as exhibits appear dressed up for the night. A girl and music revue led by Ernie Young features almost 100 artists in front of the grandstand after the pageant. A historical pageant by 600 children starts at 7 30 in front of the grandstand, followed by a band concert from Dave Derden. All exhibits and rides remain open with dancing on a special platform near the main entrance and a ten piece orchestra providing music.

Amarillo Tri-State Exposition Busiest Day Yet

Amarillo’s businesses closed at noon as hundreds from surrounding cities flooded the Tri-State exposition grounds for Amarillo Day. Tonight features a grandstand pageant at 7:30, Ernie Young's Revue, a fireworks show, special midway attractions, and dressed exhibit halls. Army airplane maneuvers were canceled earlier.
