Ten Oil Promoters In Fort Worth Indicted For Fraud

10000 Tickets For Amarillo Tri State Fair Distribution

Ten thousand special grandstand tickets will be ready Monday for Amarillo wholesale and retail firms to distribute to customers across the Panhandle. Goebel Ruled Out After Being Named Winner of Flight

MINES FIELD Los Angeles Sept 14 The elements today ruled out Art Goebel as winner of the Transcontinental Air Derby after reports of a non stop race from Roosevelt Field New York. The first four finishers shared 22500 prize money with race officials and none of the nine planes reached the goal without a stop.

Columbia Takes Off In Bellanca Mono From Amarillo Field

The Columbia commanded by Jock Inkeman and Lieut J T Lanham left Amarillo Airport bound for Los Angeles at 9 10 this morning after a 22 hour flight with Clarence Chamberlain at the controls. A leaky valve in the emergency tank forced a landing yesterday at 4 40 pm with 150 gallons lost. The crew spent the night at the Herring Hotel, while the New York to Los Angeles non stop race was halted short of its goal.

Flesher to Answer Sensational Charge

District Attorney W. J. Flesher returned to Amarillo and prepared a statement to reply to charges by Sheriff Wiley Pollard. Pollard accused Flesher of lack of cooperation and said he faced threats of grand jury action over raids on beer joints. Flesher planned a complete answer for Saturday morning and was away in Terrell, Texas on business.
