A lightning strike in Shiner yesterday killed a man identified as Mueller of Edna Texas. One man was fatally injured and another was seriously shocked, with a third man also affected.

Mrs. Bobbie Edgar 18 of Chickasha Okla is in critical condition with a wound to the abdomen from an accidental discharge of a .22 rifle while seated in a parked car near a Dumas tourist camp. She said she fired the weapon alone and was found Monday morning. doctors expect recovery.
L. W. Walker, 57, former city commissioner, drowned at his farm near Knickerbocker after his car toppled from a bluff into Dove Creek. He was pinned beneath the vehicle in the deep water this morning.
Arthur M. Yancey, 52, Ozarks native and plainsman, died of heart disease in a dugout on the Canadian River north of Amarillo. His belongings included a typewriter, traps, camera, a gun, and cot. He claimed birth on January 4, 1874, in Missouri and a life of wandering since age 18. A sister in Missouri remains unfound.
Two men escaped with about $2,000 after robbing the Morris State Bank in Morris Oklahoma seven miles east of Okmulgee.
Ernest Lee Jahncke acting Secretary of the Navy says the request to name the new dirigible Amarillo will be kept on file and considered when naming the airship built for helium production location. Senator Tom Connally had urged the name in a telegram dated August 17, 1931. The department has not yet decided on the name.
Fort Worth officials announce every unemployed person can be put to work picking cotton. C W Woodman of the US Employment Service says about 800 families have already been sent to Central Texas fields and more are needed. He promises four months of work at 40 cents a hundred pounds as police round up vagrants who had relied on charity.
Mrs. J. W. Hamilton of Lexington Virginia died at her home yesterday. She is the mother of Jimmie Hamilton manager of the Amarillo Riding Club who went to Lexington to be with her. She will be buried beside her husband who died five years ago.

In Midland Texas Mrs M F Peters 34 died from injuries suffered when a truck carrying members of a Baptist Young People Union overturned five miles east of the city. Peters wife of the West Texas Gas Co manager died in hospital at 1 AM. Ray Coleman 21 and Rudie Lowe 18 were among the most seriously injured.
President Hoover arrived back at the White House from Camp Rapidan while Mrs. Hoover remained at the Virginia camp. The return ends his Labor Day holiday as the administration resumes public duties.
