May Faces New Quiz In Senate War Probe
The Senate War Investigating Committee stated it will press Rep. Andrew J. May of Kentucky to testify about his dealings with war contracts tied to the Garsson munitions group. Chairman Mead demanded more information beyond May’s signed statement and ruled out a subcommittee trip to Prestonsburg. May, ill last July, said he is now able to meet a subcommittee and denies any compensation as Kentucky agent for Cumberland Company, insisting his actions served the war effort.
