Recovered Maid Held on Kidnaping Charge in Kansas City
The light-colored maid named Mildred Everett also called Mildred King, believed to have taken a child from Mr and Mrs Tobias home, was found unharmed after police traced her to Terre Haute. The child had stayed in three homes during three nights. the maid claimed she wanted a child of her own. The arrest followed a photo recognition by Funkhouser, a Terre Haute foundry worker. Chief Robert Vance said the girl did not appear mistreated.
