Sheriff Frank Metzel of Madison county was killed and banker Fred W. Bleck wounded near Harrison Montana after an ambush by three robbers who had robbed the Harrison State Bank last night. The trio escaped with between 1500 and 2000 dollars.

Atchison Kan Oct 28 An unidentified assailant attacked Mrs Ella Jensen 52 as she slept slashed her throat and fled. The crime occurred early today in Atchison Kansas. Authorities seek the assailant and a motive is not yet clear.
Temperatures of wintry variety prevailed across the Panhandle with a stiff northeast wind. Pampa registered 40 degrees the lowest, while Amarillo area rail reports showed 42 to 62 degrees across the region. The U S Weather Bureau noted 42 in Amarillo at night and frost was likely in exposed spots as skies turned partly cloudy tonight and Wednesday. In Wichita Falls, a sharp north wind and rapid temperature drop began about 9 am with the thermometer falling one degree per hour as Oklahoma’s cooler air pushed in.

Borger, Oct. 28 special to The Globe Luther Burney 20 employed at Eastern Rock Creek Carbon plant died instantly after a car overturned in a collision at Tenth and Main Streets. Clement K Reagan driver escaped injury and was fined 35 dollars for reckless driving. Miss Jean Brooks waitress and Miss Jewell Hedgecock were in the other car. Burney had lived in Borger two years, from Swartz Louisiana. Reagan came from Monroe Louisiana three months ago and worked with Burney. Funeral plans to be announced when relatives arrive.
Two bold robbers dressed as telegraph messengers entered M. Rosenthal & Sons at 1637 Broadway near Times Square two hours before opening. They cowed a watchman, forced the manager to recall the safe combination, and after obtaining it via a telephone call to the proprietor, lifted trays of jewels worth about 200000 dollars and fled in an automobile.
