U S Day Agent Charged With Bribe

J G Tyson former federal prohibition agent in the Amarillo division was arrested in Fort Worth on an indictment charging him with accepting a bribe. He posted 5000 bond to appear at the next Federal court opening November 17 in Wichita Falls. The indictment names alias John Tyson and concerns a report favorable to a defendant in a liquor violation case. Tyson is noted as no longer in the garment service.

Air mail service begins coast to coast at Amarillo

A scene at English Field Saturday shows mail loaded into a westbound Transcontinental and Western Airplane for the Pacific Coast inaugurating air mail service through Amarillo. The line includes William L. Murphey, W. D. Peck Jr, R. O. Noel, W. L. Gaines, W. C. Kenyon, Amarillo postmaster, Congressman Marvin Jones and Col. Ernest O. Thompson the mayor.

Mail Planes On Schedule Inaugurate Service From English Field

Mail planes began service Saturday with two aircraft starting from English Field. One flight goes to Columbus via Oklahoma City and St Louis. the other to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Eastbound carried six pounds 12 ounces of mail, westbound carried passengers. A large Sunday crowd watched arrivals from Kansas City and Los Angeles.

Magnolia Cuts Crude Oil Price

Magnolia Petroleum Company and its Standard subsidiary cut crude oil prices in Kansas and Oklahoma in line with Texas field cuts. The gravity based reduction ranges from 19 cents for low gravity to 88 cents for high gravity, and the new scale takes effect today.
