Tonight list includes Spanish Class at YWCA 7:30 PM and VFW Post 1997 Auxiliary dance at WOW Hall 9 PM. Friday calendars show many meetings and fundraisers at churches, hotels, and schools throughout the day and evening.
Mrs Tom Hill was feted at a birthday party and handkerchief shower last evening at 1808 Tyler home of Mrs J C Wesberry. Guests included Mesdames Nolhcamper Springster Utz and many others with gifts sent by a wide circle of friends.
Mrs J R Moore presided as Buchanan Street Methodist Church Woman's Society of Christian Service met in Bennett Hall. Plans were laid for the Quarterly conference dinner. Mrs P H Gates led the program on Stewardship with helpers Mrs A E Gruhlkey and Mrs R G Wood. Group singing closed the program. Attendees included Mesdames Barron, Sharp, Schooler, Bradshaw, Maness, Vaughn, Powell, Boyer, Thompson, Staples, Moore, Gates, Gruhlkey and Wood. Next Wednesday at 2 30 p m the group meets in the church parlor.
The Tenth Avenue Methodist Church Woman's Society of Christian Service met in the church parlor with Mrs. E. L. Stanford presiding. A devotional by Mrs. George Schull and remarks by visitors Mrs. B. F. McClendon Jr. and Mrs. Sam Seay defined the program. Mrs. Bob Maxwell joined the membership during business. The next meeting is set for Nov 6 at 2 o'clock in the church parlor.
