Lindbergh Freed to Roam in Mexico for Bear Hunt

Colonel Charles A Lindbergh, given carte blanche by Mexican officials, began a bear hunting trip from the Hal Mangum ranch near Eagle Pass Texas after arriving last night. He dined in Piedras Negras before returning to Eagle Pass and heading to the ranch with Mangum and Sheriff Hausser.

Ship Benefit Eases Waiting List As Amarillo Play Raises Funds

A production of The Ship by Amarillo Little Theater brought in over 1200 to aid treatment for crippled children on a waiting list. At least twelve youngsters will receive operations in Oklahoma City, funded by proceeds from last night’s performance. The city budget and tax outlook were also reviewed by auditor Thos. F. Cartwright, with a year end balance and a 1.56 tax rate noted.

Three Laborers Die From Sewer Gas in Phoenix

United Press report from Phoenix on October 24 states three laborers died and a fourth is in serious condition after being overcome by gas from a broken sewer. They were bricking up a cesspool when the men unintentionally tapped the sewer. The deceased are J. D. Blaine James Bush and Merle Manker. John Clem was hospitalized with a possible recovery.

Leary Death Penalty Upheld in Ramsey Case

The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed Harry J. Leahy’s death sentence for murdering Dr. A. J. Ramsey of Mathis in Live Oak County. Leahy previously received 50 years in a Live Oak trial, then a death sentence in Williamson County after a retrial. Ramsey’s body was found in a shallow grave amid circumstantial evidence and a $10,000 contract offer.

Fair fund gets two unsolicited checks totaling 200

Which Is Original The Village Blacksmith Duplicate Displayed
