Navy Day flowers invited for memorials nationwide
Public Memorial flower services honor all who died at sea in World War II. Citizens may donate one flower, wild or home grown, with modest spending. Navy Day official sponsor is the Navy League led by Ralph Bard. Flowers for transport to sea should be mailed to Senior Naval Chaplain at major ports, to arrive by midnight Oct. 26. Girl Scouts Celebrate 25th Birthday in Amarillo
More than 160 reservations were made for Amarillo Girl Scouts twenty-fifth birthday party at Camp Kiwanis tomorrow night. Miss Ruth Minton reported reservations closed Saturday noon. The celebration marks a quarter century of scouting here with past and present commissioners honored and plans for future activities including a Kiwanis Club swimming pool sponsorship.
