Gets 8 Years For Swindling
R. E. Nokes alias O. K. Nott was sentenced in the 47th District Court to eight years in the penitentiary on two counts of swindling. He pled guilty to passing worthless checks for two automobiles, five years for a $1,850 Plymouth and three years for forging a $2,150 Chevrolet check. He was arrested in Shreveport, Louisiana while trying to sell the Plymouth.
