Vishinsky rejected the American plan as a bid to weaken the United Nations and a new wave of propaganda and war mongering by reactionary circles. He accused Dulles of being familiar with such work and criticized the plan as hostile to international cooperation.

Soviet Russia and Vyshinsky countered that the proposal weakens the United Nations while Western allies offered mixed support. Two Fort Worth and Denver switchmen were injured when a locomotive collided with oil tank cars in St Anthony hospital. S. E. Potter 27 of 1216 West Ninth suffered a knee laceration and possible back injuries. W. A. Roach 32 of 808 Johnson Street had a left foot injury and possible chest injuries. Both were hospitalized for observation with nonserious conditions. The locomotive was operated by C. W. Robinson with fireman P. J. Hollis aboard. The men leaped clear between the engine and oil car to escape serious injury around 1 a.m.
The northern district of Texas ends dove season at sunset tomorrow. Doves may be held in possession for 90 days after the close. Each hunter may have 10 birds in possession or cold storage under federal migratory game bird rules.
The forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with scattered showers across parts of the region. Highs around 85 to 86 in Amarillo and west Texas, with cooler nights and a warm Wednesday. A few showers are noted from the Pecos Valley westward and in the Panhandle, plus thunderstorms in parts of New Mexico.
Coast Guard announced that ten people were rescued from the large Boeing flying boat. The incident occurred as authorities coordinated rescue efforts and confirmed the vessel's status. Further details were not immediately available.
