Mrs. Faye S. Gordon opened the Panhandle Speech Arts Association guest day tea at Federation Club Rooms. Oklahoma College for Women guest artist Frances Dinsmore Davis performed modern drama pieces with musical support from students including Ardath Johnson and Mary Frances Akard, while 125 guests registered. Tea service featured chrysanthemums and white tapers. Miss Davis received an enthusiastic reception.
The Amarillo Brownie Leaders' Club held a workshop with Miss Ruth Minton presenting new songs and leading singing. Mrs. John Morris directed the business session and Miss Catherine Rives taught new games and crafts. Exhibits of Brownie work were shown by Mesdames Morris Duniven Fritz and Tomberlin, with many leaders and co leaders in attendance.
Connoisseur Society members begin the fall club season with a Thursday meeting at 8 o clock in the home of Mrs. Helen Nabers Colonial Apartments. Mrs. C M Holt will direct the program focusing on French interiors.
Mrs J J Dimmitt and Mrs Witt Springer hosted a miscellaneous shower for Miss Caroline Clark before her marriage to Albert Dean Oldfather. Autumn flowers, pink and blue decorations, and a miniature bride motif set a festive tone. Guests included Mrs W Z Clark and Mrs W R Williams with many relatives and friends attending.
Circle 8 of Polk Street Methodist Church Woman's Society of Christian Service met at Mrs. Eugene Harris's home for a business session led by Mrs. T. Z. Walker and a devotional on Fill Us With Thy Peace by Mrs. L. J. Vogel. W G Fly spoke on Prayer. Refreshments served to a long list of members including Vogel and Walker before Legion Auxiliary slate session announced for Hanson Post 54 at 8 p.m. in Municipal Auditorium.
Price College Parent Teacher Association will meet tomorrow at 8 o'clock in the school auditorium to discuss upcoming events and school activities.
Mrs Loren W Young hosted a shower at 2705 Tyler for her niece Mrs Claude Millsap. Guests listed included Travis Daws W G Fly O'Brien Thompson Roy Hill George Marine Russell Barnett Clarence Young L B King R R Spangler A B Barnard Charles Erwin N C Ferguson C L Young Vestal Jii den and L W Young. Lending gifts came from Mrs Kenneth Erwin Mrs Gaines Warren and Miss Virginia Ferguson.
St. Marys Academy Alumnae Association met Sunday afternoon with Betty Keller in charge. Plans were made for the Christmas social and a night meeting is set for November 6.
