A ranch reports about 100,000 juvenile fish raised this year in a 30 acre lake at the Big Bull ranch. The owner estimates most will be eaten by 500 large bass by spring, when another crop of small fish would be spawned.
Four Shorthorn cattle bound for the American Royal in Kansas City were killed in a freight car blaze near Onaga Kansas. The car belonged to a Union Pacific train from Portland Oregon and the cattle were owned by W C Anderson of West Liberty Iowa.

All Amarillo Boy Scouts are asked to report to the Community Chest office tomorrow morning at 9 15 o clock. A Clark Amarillo Boy Scout executive says the scouts will assist the annual Community Chest campaign by distributing literature acting as messenger boys and in other ways. This marks the Amarillo Area Council good turn and Scouts are urged to report in uniform.
A $2,000,000 effort to break the American stratosphere balloon altitude record failed after an explosion of hydrogen caused most of the balloon’s silk bag to burn. Preparations for the two year project had been underway in Warsaw.
