Washington reports that merchant ships in Atlantic danger zones can be armed once the neutrality act revision is passed. The navy has secured anti aircraft guns from a $75.9 million appropriation to equip about 900 ships, mostly private merchantmen, with 1 445 guns and 1 344 mounts ordered.
