Warren Shies At GOP Talk Of 1948 Race
Gov. Earl Warren of California warned friends against promoting him as a 1948 Republican presidential candidate. He said he is not a candidate and makes no effort in that direction despite California GOP leaders hinting at a possible dark horse role at the national convention. A GOP chieftain noted some Western states had attempted to mobilize support for him. Deposits in Wyoming banks rose by more than 42 million dollars in the past year.
