Joseph C. Hurst founder of the Diamond Shop at 19 Polk Street announces an elaborate birthday sale in Amarillo to mark his second anniversary. The Globe today carries a large display ad offering many values in diamonds and jewelry with a convenient credit plan.
Twelve prisoners escaped Franklin county jail in Frankfort Kentucky at 4 80 a m by forcing an iron barred door burrowing through a brick wall and sliding down blankets tied together The warden had left his office to wake his son nearby emergency calls went out but no trace of the escapees two hours later Sixty eight other prisoners with federal court ties had access to the same escape route but stayed in cells after the last man fled to safety the alarm was raised
