Ground rules for series limit freak home runs
The World Series ground rules released by Baseball Commissioner Landis define how balls interact with stands and horns at Shibe Park and Sportsman Park. Two base hits occur on foul ground balls entering stands, home runs only if on fair ground, and balls that hit the horn or screen may be ruled home runs or in play. Quick pitches are barred and rosin bags provided for each game.
