The Western Air Express and Trans Continental Air Transport won airmail contracts to operate a 24 hour transcontinental service with mail, passengers and express between New York and California, with intermediary stops. Robert H. King former vice president of Security States Bank of Tahoka has been indicted by the Lynn county grand jury for allegedly misappropriating about 2500 of bank funds. King retired from the bank three months ago. Trial date not yet set.

A 22 year old woman was abducted after her companion, T H Hutson 25, picked her up near a north Fort Worth street. Hutson was forced at gunpoint to drive to a remote prairie area as a Black assailant bound gagged the woman and warned Hutson to follow commands. Police seek the suspect and fear for the woman’s safety.

A four story tenement at 1 Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich Village collapsed. Five people were killed, two missing, and six others seriously injured. Rescue teams removed three bodies and treated the injured, including three women. Only one of the 18 residents was awake when the structure gave way without warning.
W C Adame, 35, of Williamson West Virginia killed his wife Flossie, his mother in law Mrs John Campbell and Mrs Adames aunt Mrs Cynthia McGuire 85 of Johnson City Tennessee in a murder rampage police say jealousy drove him. He was captured after the killings and told County Prosecutor J Walter Copley he planned to kill two men he suspected of pursuing his wife.
Sam Thermna arrived at the city hospital with machine gun wounds and said in a police interview that gang members Peter McTigue and William Boody had been killed during an attack on a shack near Walmyer Illinois while tending a still. Thelma, shot in the hips, then drove to the hospital and collapsed. Thermna claimed he awoke during the firing and managed to drive there.

Doris Cochran and Dr Remington Kellogg suggest the toads were Bufo Compressus or Scaphiopus Couchii, common Oklahoma species.
Chicago reports that listed public enemies including George Barker and other gang figures are showing concern as authorities push a cleanup. Barker orders 2000 coal teamsters to pay three months dues in advance to fund his defense, with Clarence Darrow among his attorneys.
