The Han son unit of the American Legion Auxiliary plans a gift shop at the veteran's hospital. The executive board met at Mrs. Witt Springer's home to organize collecting and wrapping gifts before mailing to patients. Hess leads the collection aiming for 10 000 presents by December 15.

Fr James W Sonderman was appointed assistant diocesan director of the canned food campaign for the Diocese of Amarillo from December 9 to 18. The drive aids starving Europeans and Filipinos as part of a nationwide goal of 20 million cans led by Fr Fitzgerald, vice chancellor of the Amarillo Diocese.
