Miss Leta M. Galpin of the national YWCA arrives to plan a three day visit in Amarillo. She meets school administrators Tri-Hi-Y members and deans of women at 4 15 PM at Amarillo Senior High School to discuss youth programs. She also plans an evening session at 6 30 PM with the YWCA Business Girls Committee and Work With Teen Agers representatives and a 2 4 PM opening meeting tomorrow with volunteers.

Rescued Navy Pilot Stranded Nine Days
Ensign John R. Gensert of Big Spring Texas, a navy fighter pilot, was rescued after nine days lost on a beach 106 miles south of the Colorado River in Sonora Mexico. He had departed Albuquerque New Mexico for Holtville California November 18, hiked with rations, met locals who shared food, and was located by a coast guard plane led by Conrdr Donald B. MacDharrid. He greeted rescuers with humor and requested Navy chow.

Texan Freda Warren 24 Dies After Short Illness
Freda Merle Warren, 24, an employee of Walgreen Drug Company, died at 12 30 this morning in an Amarillo hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 14 1921 in Knox City Texas. Funeral arrangements are pending at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Survivors include her mother Maude Lee Warren and father Willis Green Warren, sisters Virginia Saunders and D M Rainey, brother Willis Warren, and grandparents Mrs D B Weaver and J A Warren. American war plants used more than a ton of diamonds a year in cutting tools.

Alexander Kennedy Dies in Amarillo Hospital
Alexander P. Kennedy aged 53 of 1007 Buchanan died at 10 last night in an Amarillo hospital. A jeweler, he had lived in Amarillo three years. Survived by a widow a son and a sister Mrs M Burnham of Denver. Body to be sent to Denver tonight by N S Griggs & Sons.

Gooseberry Bushes Bloom In Unseasonal Fall Display
Mrs. A. E. Wright reports five year old gooseberry bushes at 1308 West Eleventh are blooming in the fall though no leaves are present.
