Four WWI Officers Training Camp Buddies Reunite in Galveston
Beauford H. Jester governor elect of Texas joined three long-time friends at the First Officers Training Camp Association reunion in Galveston November 16 and 17. The four men trained at Leon Springs in 1917, joined the 90th Division, and ended the war as captains or lieutenants with combat records. Others present included Harold F. Volk, Alvin H Lane, and William DPD Burger, with Burger noting the strong turnout of Southwest business and professional figures at the convention.
