Holiday Accidents Kill Two in Amarillo
Two youths died and three others were injured in Amarillo holiday incidents. Billy Coon aged 14 died from injuries after a motorcycle car collision at Sixteenth and Travis. Charles Curry aged 16 was killed playing with a .45 pistol at his grandfather H. C. Alexander’s home on Houston as Dorsett Sanford, Eloy Quintana and Bobby Burns sustained injuries in separate crashes and medical events.

A four year old in Houston received chewing gum as a Thanksgiving gift. While handling his grandfather's pistol in a top drawer the child discharged the weapon, killing his two year old sister Lucille.
