Aged Man John P F Wofford Dies in Bath Accident

Accidental suffocation last night killed John P F Wofford 71 in a bathroom at 107 Louisiana. He died after a gas heater exhausted the room’s oxygen while he bathed. Wofford lived with daughter Mrs Vermillion and was found by her returning from work. Funeral plans not set. J W Minter justice of the peace ruled the death accidental. Crash Victim Glenn Chambers Dies Enroute to Thanksgiving

Glenn Chambers, 23, a bookkeeper for a Childress lumber firm, was instantly killed Wednesday night while traveling toward Chillicothe to spend Thanksgiving with his parents. His brother Jack accompanied by Miss Virgie Paling, a Chillicothe teacher, were in the car.

Myrick Case Put Off Over Thanksgiving

The case of Dick Myrick former police officer charged with drunkenness and disturbing the peace did not come up for trial in justice court today. It will be tried tomorrow or Saturday according to present plans. Two aggravated assault cases against Myrick are to be tried at the next term of county court which opens December 5.

Six Die in Fire at Leary Home

Six members of the Leary family were burned to death in their North Lawrence area residence. Victims are Arthur Leary 50 Mary Clara Leary 20 Evelyn Leary 13 Rita Leary 11 Esther Leary 9 and James Leary 7. The blaze occurred early today about two and a half miles from North Lawrence.

Booze Laden Car of Young Kresge Seized in Detroit

A car carrying whisky with a license plate issued to Howard Kresge was stopped near Windsor ferry dock. A youth calling himself H. Kresge, 22, claimed ownership and was released on recognizance. Three youths were aboard. eleven quarts of whiskey were found hidden in the vehicle.
