The nineteenth session opened in Lubbock with about five hundred ministers and delegates. Bishop Moore of Dallas presided. Cal C. Wright of Baird named secretary with assistants J. W. Hunt Abilene J. W. Watson Quanah and W. B. Hicks Muleshoe. M. B. Norwood elected statistical secretary. Judge George Bean and Dr Paul W Horn welcomed attendees.
A man posing as Kenneth O Hara, a New Orleans cub reporter, admitted to police he is James B O Neil former First National Bank of Los Angeles teller wanted for 176000 dollar embezzlement. He waived extradition and claimed a different real name.

Two men who robbed a Paducah store yesterday reportedly escaped despite a gun battle with officers in Vernon Texas. A crowd of about 75 searched the area but most have given up as authorities continue to pursue the bandits.

At a federal inquiry in New York a retired U S naval officer questioned the Vestris surviving captain who said his subordinates ignored orders as the ship sank. Crew members were at wrong stations and women and children were placed in the most dangerous boats.
Mrs. John F. Sipple of Baltimore national president of the Federation of Women’s Clubs and Mrs. W. R. Potter of Bowie Texas president of the Texas federation visit the Amarillo club this afternoon. They just returned from the Denton state federation meeting and discuss new resolutions and an educational conference to follow the state board meeting in Austin.
Ss. C. McGovney, local oil well driller, was acquitted in district court of swindling charges tied to disputed rig equipment ownership. Testimony filled most of yesterday. jurors returned an acquittal on the first ballot. McGovney had been found guilty previously in August with a two year suspended sentence and sought a new trial.
District court minutes show Judge Henry S Bishp ordering destruction of seized liquor. Sheriff Wiley Pollard and deputies dumped more than 275 gallons of whiskey beer wine and dry gin into the sewer at the county jail bath tub to prevent overflow. The items were seized since February 1 with the latest disposal dated October 22 amid raids that also seized several stills and equipment.
A sixty mile Fort Worth and Denver rail line into the Plains wheat belt is observed by the Amarillo delegation traveling to Dimmitt for a Plainview breakfast. The group proceeds to Sterley Junction and Lockney before heading to Lubbock for a celebrations turnout and a night stop amid news of John W. Bradley’s death in Wichita Falls.
Roy B Henderson denied reversing the District 2 Hammett case as Abilene reports claimed. The Ranger Cisco game may be replayed after Henderson said he only gave informal advice to the district chairman. Abilene has declined a forfeit of the tie.
Maynie Liddell, wounded last Thursday by a posse pursuing two bank robbers after the First National Bank holdup in Marietta, Oklahoma, died in Love County jail today.
The Hanson Post American Legion postponed last night’s installation due to commander elect Bill Benton being out of the city. Commander A. Peterson will hold over until the installation next week.
Mary McCormie former Chicago Civic Opera star and Paris Idol returns to Amarillo. She will visit her parents Commissioner and Mrs J I Harris and perform at the auditorium tomorrow night sponsored by Emil F Myers of the Amarillo College of Music. Her girlhood ties to the city are recalled as she resumes local engagement.
Oklahoma middleweight George Courtney defeated Charlie Belanger by technical knockout in the fifth round of a twelve round main event in Cleveland last night.
Daniel Falco attempted a robbery at Madison and Curtis streets but realized his pistol was missing. Milton Fields drew on the confusion and retaliated, punching Falco as police arrived. Falco remained puzzled by the missing gun when jailed.
