The North Amarillo Garden Club gathered at Horace Mann School with Mrs. Macon O Carder of the Am arillo Garden Club speaking on Home Bulbs. Attendees included Mesdames Baker Reville Bing ham Osborn Johnson Burroughs Beavers Broaddus Graham Moore Shack elford Miller Hill Reed and Archie Reed, plus guests Mr and Mrs Grimm. A Christmas party with a contest is planned for December 8.
Directors of the Amarillo Branch Ingathering Guild of America plan a Friday tea at 2 30 PM in Fellowship Hall First Christian Church. Garments near 1500 are collected for distribution to Day Nursery Preventorium Salvation Army Children's Home and local groups.
The annual bazaar of First Presbyterian Church will be held in Fellowship Hall Thursday and Friday evenings from 5 30 to 10. A country store theme features pies thimbles and home made preserves plus booths for white elephants handiwork and surprise items. Moving pictures will be shown for all ages and a variety of foods including sandwiches hamburgers pies cake chili and coffee will be served.
Gavel Club members will meet Thursday afternoon at 2 30 in the home of Mrs. J E Caldwell 2616 Ong for a planned session.
Poplar Grove 171 Woodmen Circle will host a covered dish Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow at 6 30 PM in IOOF hall. All Grove members invited. Palo Duro Grove and Dumas Grove guests will attend. Attendees should call Mrs D D Hurley or Mrs E W Fields to RSVP.
