Oscar Applequist has joined the staff of Consumers Cooperatives As sociated in the educational depart ment. He was formerly with the Amarillo Gas Company and is a three time veteran having served in the Marine Corps during the 1914 uprising in Mexico and in World War I. In World War II he was chief petty officer in the Navy.

Photographic Group To Hear Lecture In Amarillo
Amarillo Photographic Society meets Thursday at 8 pm in the arts and crafts center at Municipal Auditorium. Fred Finch from the local Bureau of Reclama tion will lecture on negatives and paper choices. Members should bring negatives for analysis. P. R. Rose, new president, won top honors in the ranch scenes competition. Hermon C. Pipkin took third. A field trip to Boys Ranch yielded over 30 prints for a traveling show. Armistice Day Memorial Planned by Amarillo Legion
Hanson Post No 54 of the American Legion discussed a memorial service at the Veterans Hospital with participation from veteran groups including two Veterans of Foreign Wars posts and Disabled American Veterans. The meeting covered the 18th district convention in Amarillo November 16 17 with 88 delegates named and a merchants solicitation committee for downtown flag displays. The post also plans to continue sponsoring a community Christmas tree and heard a performance by the Amarillo High School Acapella Choir directed by Julia Dean Evans.
