Paul Whiteman and 32 musicians arrive in Amarillo tomorrow morning from Fort Worth and Denver at 7 30. The band will rehearse at the city auditorium for a 3 45 afternoon concert and an 8 15 evening show using eighty five instruments. In El Paso and several towns in the South and Midwest incomplete returns from early voting show Hoover leading in Houston and New Orleans era areas with Smith strong in Texas and Mississippi. Reports cite counts from Harris County Texas and specific precincts in Louisiana and Mississippi as polls near closing.
In Mexico City on November 6 threats during the trial of Jose de Leon Toral and Mother Concepcion Aceveda de la Linta prompted the government to deploy troops. The jury considered resigning as threats and courtroom disruption rose. Toral faces murder charges in General Alvaro Obregon’s killing while the nun is alleged to be his accomplice. Jurors received threatening letters and one asked to carry a pistol for protection, with two police assigned to each juror.
Shot at a polling place near Lefthand Hill, Clyde Moore, 25, was seriously wounded. E. H. Huffman was arrested and sent to Roan county jail. A detachment of state troops moved into Logan county to prevent mob violence after a political argument escalated. Judge Robert Bland requested militia, claiming Sheriff Tennis Hatfield deputized 200 election deputies.
Sousa's band scheduled for November 14 at the Municipal auditorium will not perform in Amarillo this year. The Central Labor Union barred Musicians Union members from playing, citing the Tri-State Fair association's presence on the union unfair list. About 700 reserved tickets will be refunded at the Tri-State Fair office, with Emmett urging prompt redemption.
Mrs. Bessie Stout, wife of S. W. "T Bone" Stout, was arrested in Clarendon on charges of accessory to theft in a case involving an auto theft and firearms. Oren Stewart, Price Copeland, and two others face related charges. Stewart linked to safes at Sears Roebuck and M System stores. Donley County authorities transported Stout and Stewart after dawn arrests by local detectives. detainer filed on Stout in Potter County.
Mr and Mrs W Izzard announce the birth of a baby girl early this morning at their home 3200 West Tenth street. Both mother and child are reported doing well. Mr Izzard is managing editor of The Globe.
The New Era newspaper completes a 22 year and 8 month series printing the Bible in weekly installments. The effort marks a historic long term publishing project in the community.
In Worcester Massachusetts a Republican election eve parade ended in rioting. Nearly 50 injured with 10 seriously hurt as several thousand spectators attacked 10 000 marchers with sticks bricks eggs fruit bottles and oil from a cliff. Police restored order after hours with 400 on duty.
Paris reports the cabinet of Premier Raymond Poincare resigns after four radical socialist ministers quit. President Gaston Doumergue accepted the collective resignation as France faces political upheaval at the start of parliamentary session.
Charges of theft under 50 dollars and a misdemeanor were filed against R. B. Bobbitt after his arrest by sheriff's deputies. He is held in Potter County Jail. Griggs Ambulance is listed with a contact number.
The Globe News will broadcast all election returns tonight at the Auditorium starting at 6 o clock. The crowd will hear results from Potter county, the state, and nationwide as soon as polls close with Dave Derden's band providing music before the program.

President and Mrs. Coolidge returned to their home state to vote in the general election. The event took place at their Northampton residence and was reported by United Press.
Amarillo police led by Capt. W. R. McDowell and Detective C. H. Denton recovered two cars and a substantial liquor haul. At 1:00 a.m. officers arrested two youths, Jerry Woodworth and Homer Stanton, linked to a stolen 1928 Master Six Buick from Clovis. A 1927 Chevrolet owned by F. D. Reynolds was recovered in Randall County. C. W. Allen of Amarillo was jailed on liquor transportation and possession charges after 10 quarts of whiskey, 16 pints of whiskey, 2 quarts of alcohol, 2 quarts of tequila and a pint of champagne were found in a Ford coupe.
