Election Returns Night At Amarillo Auditorium

The Globe News plans a major election night in Amarillo with three leased wires bringing state and national results. Potter county totals will be collected by reporters and relayed to the Auditorium before The Globe News building. Three Convicts Flee Tennessee Jail Break

Police and bloodhounds chase three long term prisoners who scaled the penitentiary walls and crossed high voltage wires after using an insulated ladder. The escapees are Will R. Davis of Nashville serving 25 years for wire slaying and Harvey L. Pressley of Shelby County convicted of grand larceny.

Woman Hurd Plane Crash Walks 18 Miles for Aid

Miss Helen Crandall of Alfred New York walked eighteen miles through woods with fractured ribs to seek help for her co pilot George Eyer after a forest crash near Bradford Pennsylvania. She guided five men to a farmhouse and they carried a rough litter to remove Eyer. The plane was en route from Pittsburgh to Hornell when it crashed.

Pickwick air bus service curtailed by poor roads

J H Hill traffic manager says Amarillo and the Panhandle lose out as the Pickwick transcontinental air and stage line shifts away from routes hampered by bad roads. He cites Amarillo to Oklahoma City costs and estimates losses around five thousand dollars daily in bad weather. Kane notes twenty six visitors stayed that night and a quarter million dollars yearly spent in Amarillo.

Arrest of man on murder and assault charges in church fray

Ben Emerson, a negro and porter for N. S. Griggs and Sons, was arrested on charges of assault with intent to murder after a knife attack in the negro section last night. He was transferred from Potter county jail this morning under bond.
