Gas hearing underway on Amarillo Gas Company plant condemnation

The City of Amarillo pursues condemnation to acquire the Gas Company distributing plant. A County Court session before Judge E C Nelson began at 2 pm with a request to appoint three appraisers to fix value. Gas company counsel urged delaying appraisers due to petitions for a public vote. Judge Nelson stated he would follow the law and determine understandings at the hearing.

Gambling To Open In Nuevo Laredo Mexico

LAREDO May 21 The Tamaulipas state government will permit gambling concessions in Nuevo Laredo led by Governor Castellanos. Mayor Amado Gonzales Palacios announced the approval and concessions will require 1000 pesos daily. Mexican laborers and farmers will be barred from gambling by police. The concessions cover roulette chess billiards cards poker dice and checkers.
